Duluth to Great Falls and Sweetgrass border station

We are travel across the Michigan UP through Duluth to the Sweetwater, MT crossing into Canada. Considering RT 2 all the way, if not going to take I-94 from Fargo. Any thoughts?

US2 is a more scenic route. I've done both and US2 is the best route with more see and do. First time I did that I was driving a 35ft Freightliner truck pulling a 30ft construction trailer and we had no problems navigating that end of the highway.

We ran hiway 2 last summer from St Ignace to Seattle with one minor detour in Washington. Great drive. Take your time and enjoy.

If your planning to go to Alaska, I would reconsider that route.......once you make the turn from Hanies Junction going north, all hell brakes loose........resurfacing and a couple of long stops for the pilot car.
Sad part is I have to go back that same route to get to Lethbridge to meet up with friends.

Avoid western North Dakota on US 2 due to severe congestion around the Bakken oil fields. You have been forewarned.

Second that, avoid the Bakken oil field around Williston North Dakota. Thousands of water tanker trucks going as fast as they can on roads that are beat to death.

We are currently in Medora, ND going to the pitchfork fondue and musical tomorrow night! Took Route 2 out of Duluth, then 200/34/10 to Moorehead, MN where we stayed at Buffalo River state park, then I-94 to Medora.

Will most likely jump up to route 2 via 200s/13 over to Sweetgrass. Off the interstates are so much nicer.
