Dump Stations on way to Alaska

My wife and I will be leaving soon on our way to Alaska with an expected arrival in Fairbanks prior to May15. I was talking to a couple who has been to Alaska in prior years and they told us we would have a difficult time finding places to dump our tanks until after May 15th. I really do not desire to carry full tanks all the way to Fairbanks. Where are there available dump stations after Dawson?

Get a current copy of Milepost it lists all the dump stations.

I have Milepost but I have not found information that let me know if the Dumps Stations would be working in April or early May.

I do not see any issues with finding a dump station open this time of the year. We usually spend a day in Dawson ar a CG and empty/fill tanks. I am not sure how often you need to dump but we are normally good for 4-6 days. The CG's in Whitehorse will just beinging to open up but some gas stations also have dump sites. There should be places open in Delta Junction and there are some open in Fairbanks.
Enjoy your trip and if you get time send us a note as we are here all of the time.

check on Flying J gas stations. They offer free dump and if you have there gas card you will get 8 cents off the price at the pump. Good luck!

We don't have any Flying Js in AK. Sure wish we did.

Some of the Holiday Service stations (like the one down the street from me in Anchorage) have free dump and water, plus they sell propane, gas and diesel.

I've never traveled the ALCAN this time of year, but we've made 3 trips to the lower 49 in October/November, no trouble dumping. Well one year our sewer cap turned in to a massive ball of ice. We had more trouble find freshwater.

Last I knew they had changed it to $10 with a $5 discount if you have the card plus gas was 6 a gallon discount. Just got my bill today

Here's what it says (and we're Charter Lifetime Good Sam Members so our discount is higher than regular members):
Quote:
Gas - $.06 per gallon, Diesel - $.08 per gallon, Propane - $.10 per gallon
