Durango to Santa Fe

I will be heading to Santa Fe NM from Durango in Sept, it seems there are two options:

84/285 south or the 550???

Pulling a 35 ft fifth wheel, which one would be the easiest?

Thanks

Both are very easy. 84 to Santa Fe is very scenic. It's painter's O'Keefe area. A couple Corp of Engineer parks along the way... Abiquiqu is nice. While in Santa Fe be sure to visit Kasha-Katuwe Nat'l Monument for very unique rock formations. Also, Los Alamos and Bandelier Nat'l Monument. It's also an easy day trip to Taos. Have a good trip!

I just came back from Durango to ABQ this weekend on 550. 4 lanes all the way, more like an interstate than a highway. 84/285 I think would be a bit more scenic and there are more small town stops along the way.

No steep grades on 84 - just some 'hills'. Good highway.
