I would like to take the secondary route across the state and then head up to Alexandria and eventually to the Natchez Parkway.....Has anyone used SR 12/190 from Vidor to Baton ROuge?? OR SR 12/190 to SR 165 to Alexandria and across on 28/84 to 61 to Natchez????? I would rather see the front of the back roads than the back of the front roads...

Take SR 12 (Which turns into HWY 190) The 165 to Alexadnria is OK. But I-49 is not all commercialized. So it is not a bad drive.

If oyu want a rual drive that is nice go on to Baton Rouge on 190 and catch HWY 61 North to Nachez. Brings you right into Nachez where you can catch the Nachez Trace.

Now if you want to know the best "Eatin" places on 61 let me know... There are some pretty good ones in St. Fancisviile. There are also some civil war places/historical places in the area as well.

Catch Ya Later,

Don
