Call the NRA. Do you have concealed carry permit? I called and they gave me a ton of info.

If you travel through southern Nevada and want to spend 4 days having a lot of fun and learn all this stuff go to Front Sight just outside Las Vegas and take their 4 day Defensive Handgun course. You can even get a multi-state CCW permit at the same time. You can find certificates for the course on ebay for less than $100 for the entire course. You can rent anything you need for the training there. You will go through 500 to 600 rounds during the training. You will be having class room instruction also every day covering laws, liabilities, use of force, etc.
When i went I camped right outside the gate with 10 other RVers (dry camp)

If you were referring to post above that mentions CCW under HR-218 for all 50 states it is only available to police officers and retired police officers.

Country wide gun permit???

I thought it was called the 2nd ammendment to the Constitution contained in the "Bill of Rights".

Some research & most all states consider a motorhome a vehicle which is in keeping with having to have license plate & motor vehicle insurance.

im with you palehorse, I carry a 12 gauge slug deer slayer everywhere I go. unloaded of course but the slugs aren't out of reach. hope I never have to use it, but I feel safer with it than have to rely on the cops being there to save my rear end

I have traveled all over the US, from Florida to Alaska, parts of Canada and Nova Scotia. Stayed in over 100 campgrounds and have never felt the need for a gun. Worrying about all the rules etc.. , maybe you should leave it home?

Let's stay on topic regarding firearms transport only.

Thanks!

To the OP... I'm not sure which state you are from, but many states have reciprocity laws with other states that allow a person with their states' concealed carry permit to be legal in other states. I live in TX and TX, for example, has reciprocity with MANY states across the nation. Not everywhere, but in many states. So while you may not consider yourself a "conceal-carry" kind of person, there are benefits to having that permit beyond the ability to carry a concealed gun on your person. It can also be helpful for making purchases, or directly to your post, in transporting firearms across states that have friendly reciprocity with your home state.

If you google "CCL reciprocity" or similar phrases, you should be able to find good information about your state.

Some states do say their CCW is reciprical with other states. However, I have found in the past that some states drop that agreement and the internet or traing classes don't get updated. I would recommend contacting the states that are reciprical and make sure you have all the latest info.

Just FYI for those that have questions about this.

Another example of Snapgeeks comment :
Illinois, for example, allows me ( MO conceal carry permit holder)to keep my loaded firearm in my vehicle, even though they do not allow me to carry my gun in public . Because Illinois does not reciprocate with any other states.
But, somebody who doesn't have a conceal carry permit, must keep there firearm unloaded , locked in a separate area away from the driver .
Each state has there own laws, & it is a pain in the neck.
