First Road Trip

My wife and I are considering buying a small fifth wheel for occasional road trips. To find out if we enjoy it and if we can stand each other in close quarters for extended periods of time, we are going to rent a motor home.

We plan to travel to Las Vegas in mid May for about two weeks. We will need to be in Vegas for four days in the middle. We live near Dallas and would like to make our first stop at Palo Duro Canyon.

We would appreciate any suggestions as to routes and stops on our trip. We have been to the Grand Canyon several times but only to the Village area.

Sounds like a great trip, but I haven't been out there before myself so I have no suggestions!
