There are rough spots and there are good spots, but the same thing is true for I-20 and I-40. Other than a little rattle-and-roll, we have made the trip on both I-10 and I-40.

Pretty good shape a year ago other than just east of New Orleans for several miles.

Did the same ride myself in Feb and agree, fine everywhere else but Louisiana is a bit bumpy (but nothing like up here in the northeast).

No better or worse than most intere states. They are still the best way to make time and not scenery. Remember the view never changes if you don't get off the inter states.

We traveled I10 from FL to Tucson and back this past Jan - March. Was surprised how good the road was with the exception of some of it in LA.

Unfortunately I travel I10 from Houston to diff parts Louisiana and beyond more frequently than I would like. This is the worse road that I have ever taken our RV's on. Things have rattled loose on two different Class A's on this route and I consider it my "avoid at all costs" road. I would avoid this route of possible and feasible.

I-10 into Louisiana is bad because it's built over swampland. It will never be smooth sailing.

You did not mention time frame ... currently there is a long resurfacing project between the NM/AZ line and Tucson ... lots of single lane driving ... and a couple of 11' wide restrictions over some new bridges
I just came through there about 10 days ago
