Florida to Texas

I know this post probably should have been placed in the traveling section but I'm hoping that I'll have a better chance of a reply in General Discussions

We will be taking off tomorrow, Sunday 14th, for Corpus Christi Tx, from Naples Fl., and was wondering if anyone could provide me with the current road conditions. Not the roughness of I-10 but possible snow situations we may encounter.

Thanks

Ron K.

Right now you are good to go through Texas. I assume you will take I-10E to US-59S and points into Corpus.

Happy trails.

Ron,

Isn't it AMAZING that you have to ask about SNOW conditions on I-10??? Totally freaky weather this winter! Looking forward to reading any replies on this. Better than the Weather Channel

RonK:

Just came to Rockport from Tampa a week ago, and highway was fine....but...since ya might be asking about the weather vs. road condition, I don't know. All I know is that it dang cold here and we've been waiting for a warm up. FYI...we took the toll bypass around Houston to pick up 59 heading South, but it's costly so ya might want to use the 610 route from I-10 South and West over to pick up 59. Bring some of that Naples warm weather with ya...o.k.??? Have a good trip. Steve & Lynette

My only suggestion would be time your arrival into Houston. The wrong hours would make you wish you were in a blizzard instead. 10 am till 3 pm preferably. The 610 loop won't buy you much as the major traffic will be outside the loop. I would continue on I 10 to US 59 S. Plus, if you've never been to Houston, it will give you a great view of downtown. Even though I don't live in Houston any longer, I still love it.
