From Cherokee NC to Gatlinburg, TN
Has anyone driven hey 441 from Cherokee NC to Gatlinburg TN in a MH pulling a toad? Is it a challenge with a lot of switchbacks? If so what road would you recommend?

Did that route about a year ago. No problems doing it with our rig and we were towing the CRV. As I recall the speed limit is 45 mph or less so everyone goes slow. Beautiful drive-I wouldn't pass it by if I were anywhere close to it. Very scenic drive with lots of pull-offs.
There is one loop-de-loop where you go through a short, wide tunnel and loop back and go over the top of the tunnel that you just went through. Kind of fun and no problem for even semis. There's a couple of those out in the Black Hills also that we've gone through.

You will have no problems other than leaf peepers possible making it a slow drive this time of year. I live in Franklin NC and travel that road a lot. Always see many RV's traveling on it.

I have driven the entire blueridge pky in a car several times, I would not want to drive it in my RV. Is that highway anything like the blueridge pky?

Just did it this past summer with my suv behind my 30 ft class c....not a problem at all.

I guess what I am wanting to know is the road like the Blueridge Pky, having sheer drop offs ? My wife would freak out, lol. I drive a 41 foot pulling a jeep.

Hi Tom222,
Going North any sheer drops would be on the other side of the road. This would be on the Tennessee side of the road, going down to Gatlinburg. You'll be going 25 MPH because of traffic. Road quality is fine. Traffic slows everything down. This is leaf peeper month.

Hi,
I use that route all the time when I go to Pigeon Forge with no problems towing a Ford Escape on a Dolly.
Take your time and use your gears going up and down the mountain. If you see a lot of cars stacked up behind you pull off at a pull out and let them go by.
This time of year it is a beautiful ride however I would not recommend going to Clingmans Dome with the toad on the back.

I've done it several times, on a couple of loop turns swing wide and watch rocks on a couple of right hand turns really no problem I push cars up and down the he mountain
