We did it last year as part of a Fantasy Tour. Had a terrific time and they took care of all the arrangements. All we had to do was drive to the next location. Roads were great, camp grounds were great and the overall trip just unforgettable. We ran out of descriptive adjectives as regards the scenery. Hope your trip is as super as ours was.

Well, ...... I would ask where you would be at Glacier NP. The trip from West Glacier to Waterton can be a real bear if you take US 2 and US 89 to East Glacier. US 89 is twisty and windy with curves going this way and that way, and we were advised to avoid SR 49 altogether.

The best route from the west to Waterton, or East Glacier (St. Mary's) is US 2 to Browning and then north on SR 464 to US 89. That may be more miles, but you will have a more relaxing ride, and maybe get there just as fast. (Been there, done that. )

Do visit Alberta's Waterton Lakes NP! You'll not be disappointed! Same mountain range but spectacular views in its own right that our northern neighbors have every right to be proud of.
