Since you will be near Exit 14 of I-87, get on it and head South to the I-90 Albany, ~20 miles. Head East to I-295 Worcester MA. Go North until it connects to I-95 - get off at Bangor. Total distance about 500 miles, Saratoga - Bangor. I would consider getting off I-95 at Kittery, ME or Portland, ME and driving up US1 - until after Labor Day the traffic can be horrible though along that route. You can meander the narrow twisty back roads through the mountains and valleys of Mass. and New Hampshire but unless you have lots of time, and want to PO a lot of other drivers I wouldn't - been there, etc.
Of course after you help NYRA and the State of NY, you might not be able to afford the trip
