Gardiner, MT to Cody, WY

In Gardiner for a week, doing Yellowstone. Looks like the only two ways out of here are the northeast entrance or the east entrance.
from what I have seen it would appear the the east entrance route is more direct, but still have to pull over Sylvan Pass. Anyone done it lately?

Take the east route from Gardiner to the east entrance. While not great route, it is better than coming down the loop on the west side of the park. Sylvan Pass is not much of a challenge going out the east entrance. Take it easy heading down. They finished rebuilding that road a couple of years ago and it is much better than it was years ago.

Sylvan Pass is not too rough, they have improved it. I assume you are going to go past Obsidian Cliffs on the western part of the north loop to avoid Dunraven Pass on the east side of the Grand Loop Rd? The Northeast Entrance is very scenic, but the Beartooth Highway is best seen in a car, not a RV.

Bob, thanks for the reply. Will not be going out through Dunraven Pass with the MH. Drove it today in the toad. Not a good road, plus construction delay.

Going out past Mammoth to Norris to Fishing Bridge, then out the East entrance.

Thank you.
