We will be going from Gatlinburg TN to Cherokee NC through the Great Smoky MT NP. We will be in a 40' MH. How is the road. I see quite a few switch backs. That doesn't bother mer as long as the road is wide enough. Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you

US441 is plenty wide for your motorhome in the area going across the GSMNP, you shouldn't have any highway problem at all. I've gone over that route in my 5th wheel numerous times with no issues, it's almost as long and wide as your MH.

Expect lots of traffic this time of the year, it's a popular route.

moldmkr:

Have ya taken a short little daytrip over New Found Gap (Rt. 441) using only your Nissan?? Might be worth a look-see before taking your rig over towing.

Ya might want to consider 321 E. out of Gatlinburg over to I-40 S.E., down to N. Carolina 276 S. and on to 19 W. into Cherokee.

I've been US 19 from US276 in Maggie Valley to Cherokee in my toad. I'm not comfortable thinking about that stretch with my motor home. HitcHiker is right about 441-wide and not overly steep.
Safe travels...
