I'm sure you would agree that the bigger your rig, the more it narrows down options. When you're talking 45' . . . Yosemite was not designed to accommodate a rig of anywhere near that size. With our little 37'er & toad, I wouldn't even think of going into the park. The best compromise I can suggest is to stay at private parks that can handle big rigs & take a passenger vehicle in. We've accessed Yosemite from the upper campground at Lake McClure & the fairgrounds in Mariposa. Both have hook-ups. Staying outside the park will not give you the full Yosemite experience, but that's part of the compromise. If you truly want that full experience, you might consider leaving the motorhome at a park along whichever freeway you'll be using. (Ex. The Lakes in Chowchilla on 99.) Stay a night or two in the lodge in Yosemite.

Thank you so much for your "instructions". We followed these to the letter and got our first choice in Wawona and although our first choices in Upper Pines were gone before our request went through, we did get a nice site in that campground before all of the RV sites were gone at 7:03!!!!! Crazy

Congrats! We reserved our site in April at North Pines. It pays to stay on top of it as sites go fast.
