Get a SunPass, available at Publix, among other stores. $4.99, then they give you a $4.99 credit, plus a discount on tolls. So no cost to you. Get one for the Toad also. And don't bring your m/h to the Keys without a campground reservation. Everything is packed in the winter.

Hi fxdave,
If you are coming down I95 get on the Turnpike at exit 129 (State Route 70, Ft. Pierce. Sunshine Key Resort is a great place to stay. I have stayed there when it is just me and have hosted rallies there. North or South of the Resort there is a lot to do.

The pub being referred to in earlier posts is also known as No Name Pub.

I just found the driving instructions from Sunshine Key RV Resort to the No Name Pub. The following is what I gave the attendees at the last rally I hosted at this Resort:
Driving instructions to No Name Pub. Do not go during peak lunch & dinner times. Do not sit outside, sit inside. Bring at least one extra dollar bill (per family) and a marker. If you have scotch tape or a stapler, bring it too. For lunch be there at 11 AM or 2 PM. For dinner be there close to 4:30 PM.
a.Out of campground turn right (South on US route 1)
b.Go 8 miles to a traffic light.
c.Turn right onto Key Deer Blvd.
d.About 1.5 miles turn right on Watson Blvd.
e.Continue on Watson Blvd to No Name Pub (on the left)
f.The address is:
30813 N Watson Blvd
Big Pine Key, FL 33043
(305) 872-9115

Last word a few weeks ago that the Walmart (Homestead) no longer allowed overnighting . Quebec french were setting up long term camping in their park lot. Unfornate if true because it made for a nice early morning jump off point for driving down the keys. Walma rt in Clewiston as of last year also prohibited RV parking. think that was due to the KOA half mile up the road tho. So i don't bother to leave any money in Clewiston (Had a decent eating place across from Walmart too)

Why get one for the toad also? Is this cheaper than the by axle rate for the MH towing a toad with no pass? I'm coming down in April and I'm trying to figure out the Sunpass thing in time.

Hi Parkerrs,
Don't over complicate the Sunpass thing. Get the $4.99 stick on the windshield version for the coach if you're just passing through on a toll road into and out of the Keys. You will not need one for the toad. Just make sure you have some $s in the account to pay for more than double the stated tolls. Yep, that is correct, Florida charges you more to tow than to drive the vehicles separately!

If you will be driving the toad and using the toll roads, get the Sunpass that you can move from vehicle to vehicle.

Do not have a Sunpass on each vehicle and tow through a toll. You'll get both Sunpasses charged and the coach will be charged the higher rate to boot!
