We went to Nashville from Orlando and stayed at Twin Oaks RV park in Elko Ga. It was a bit less than halfway for us. It's right off 75 has nice pull thrus and very clean & nice staff.

50 amps, full hook up. Call for reservations. They don't take your credit card to hold a spot, but they can fill up. We stayed there going up and back to Nashville

If you take the western, I-65 route, there is a nice KOA in Ozark-Fort Rucker Alabama, where we stop on our Florida snow-bird flights. It is along U.S. 231, an easy days drive from Nashville.

Not sure about the campgrounds but pay attention to when you go through Atlanta. Try to miss the AM or PM rush hours. I stop just before or just after depending when those rush hours. IE, traveling north stop just short of Atlanta then leave at 10:00 AM to get through before a noon time rush.

We'd recommend Twin Oaks as well, just the right distance from Tampa for me. Have stayed there many times.. Also time it so you miss Atlanta traffic....

I agree. I now only travel through Atlanta on Sunday mornings. Horrible traffic.

We did that trip and stayed at Stone Mountain. Great place if you've never been. You just have to put up with Atlanta traffic, but all in all it wasn't bad, worth it

I think this is farther than 1/2 way, but we stayed at the Cartersville KOA. Easy access off 75 with FHU, pull-thru site. Was a nice place for a stopover.

Well, if you take the U.S. 231 / I-65 route, you won't have to worry about Atlanta.

Another vote for Twin Oaks - it was our half way stop from Okeechobee to Knoxville
