Guadalupe MT NP Dog Canyon??

I have camped several times at Guadalupe Mountains National Park in the Pine Springs CG. I have never made the trip to the western side at Dog Canyon.

Has anyone taken their MH or trailer to that campground? Any comments or recomendations?

Thanks in advance,

Yes we have spent some time at D/C.
D/C has 9 walk in tent sites and 4 back in RV sites.
The RV sites have tables no shade. There is drinking water but no sewer dump. The closest sewer dump is at the RV park at the Queen Store which is 17 miles north of the campground.
The campground has flush toilets & a service sink out back.
The road in from Carlsbad is paved up to the park cattle gap. Once you get into the park the road deadends about 3/4 mile in the campground. Watch out at mile marker 2 because there is a bad dip in the road over a culvert. There is also a steep pass over the mountain where Queen, NM is located but we haven't had any problem with our 40' MH towing a Trailblazer
Once you leave Carlsbad there is no gas/diesel and you are 70 miles from town at the park so plan ahead for fuel. (no the road never went across the mountain to Pine Springs.
The hiking on this side of the park is real good. Lost peak is wonderfull. We did have a wildland fire there last summer but the grass came back really quick. The bigest casulity was the Indian Medows nature trail but they are working to repair it, though this will be a long process.
Drink lots of water as you are at 6300' and the humidity is often in the single digits. The temps. are in the upper 80s to low 90s during the day and the mid to low 60s at night. Look at the Guadalupe Mountains F/B page. If you would like more info p/m me.
