Hal Rogers Parkway

Hal Rogers / Daniel Boone Parkway. East of London, what's out there past the Hyden turnoff?

Hal Rogers / Daniel Boone Parkway is mostly a 2 lane road, about ~63 miles, connecting London, KY to Hazard, KY. It was a toll road (only 2 lane toll road in KY) from 1971 to 2003 when the tollbooths were closed and dismantled. "What's out there?" Mostly trees and hills, sprinkled with rural folks living their lives.

We came back to Manchester from Hyden in the toad on US 421.

Compared to when we were here last, about 11 years ago, there are far fewer junk trailers and shacks. Folks that lived in them have moved to town (Manchester, London) for jobs or town services while more affluent town people have built nice houses out in the "suburbs." Things are changing.
