heading to texas from new mexico

leaving for van horn, texas tomorrow. I see the route goes thru or around el paso. I want to skip any toll roads because I had an expensive experience with texas toll roads around houston a few years ago. are there tollways around el paso? if so, how can I avoid them?

No toll roads through El Paso that I'm aware of. Been going through there for 14 years on I 10.

Just get a cheap $100 GPS and set it up to avoid toll roads. When I visit Dallas during the holidays every year, it keeps me off the toll roads while there.
