Help- need good advise going south on 101

Leaving Eugene today and going to coos bay but am looking for the BEST way to get back to the I 5 to San Diego. Have to go south on the 5 for time shake because need to be back there by sat.

Looked at the 42 across, the 199 from Crescent city to Grants pass but going a little out of our way to catch the 5.

The 299 out of Arcate to redding but not sure about the road with our rig.

We have a 36' and towing car.....

I would just follow 101 down to the CA 20 (Clear Lake area) and go over to the 5 from there.

We've done Hwy 20 with our 40' motorhome.

We did 199 last year in a 45 ft mh pulling a full size pickup, but I wouldn't do it again because we were illegal in Ca. It would be doable for you, but I'd go a different way if at all possible.
