Highway 24, Limon to Colorado Springs

Hello,
Anyone traveled Colorado Highway 24 from I-70 at Limon to Colorado Springs lately? Took it two or three years ago in our motorhome and as I recall it was pretty rough. Thinking about staying on the interstate and just going on to Denver and down to Colorado Springs if they haven't paved 24 lately.
Appreciate any help from someone that's traveled it lately. Especially if you have in your motorhome.
Thanks.

We traveled it last Sept. and there was some road work going on.It was not a bad drive for us.Sure is better than going through Denver.

Riverc,
Thanks for the reply. Kind of hoping that they have paved it within the last year or so as it was a little rough and had a lot of dips in the pavement the last time we traveled on it two or three years ago.
We purposely bypassed up to Denver and West on I 70 on our return trip and it is about twice as far but we thought the interstates were in good shape.

Thanks again.

When taking 24 between Limon and Colorado Springs, beware of speed traps. There are a few townships in there along that route that have what seems to be one man Police Dept's. with little to do.
I have noticed the speed limit drops quickly as you approach those towns as well.
I never got caught speeding and most of us in the RV world don't speed, however, nothing says "out-of-towner" like a big RV rolling thru.

Alsdas88,
Seems I vaguely remember small towns with a quick drop in speed limits but thanks for the reminder. Getting pulled over can ruin your day.
Now that I'm retired I usually don't have to worry about that. Not in a hurry anymore.

Drove it less than a week ago, not bad at all! Didn't see any sign of speed traps, just lucky I guess, don't travel real fast any way.
