Highway 281

How is highway 281 from Grand Island NE to Mitchell SD, doesn't look like there's too many places to fuel your truck on this route , pulling a 40' FW with Ram Diesel. Heading to corn palace at Mitchell sd.

Use gasbuddy.com and find stations, plus where the less expensive diesel is located. Happy trails.

Fill up in St Paul about 20 miles north of GI. Then again in Oneil. You'll be good. Some scenic stuff on the drive.

Probably not a big worry, every little town will have a convenience store with gas and diesel (farmers have to buy fuel too).

You will be travelling through the Sandhills of Nebraska as you approach O'Neil from the south.

I lived in that area for a time in my earlier life ... amazing grass lands ... watch for real life cowboys working cattle on their horses ....

Cheapest fuel you will probably find will be in Grand Island, a spot with easy access for your rig will be on the south end of town, a Sinclair on Stolley Park Road next to a Doctor John's
