Does anyone know which road is better to go from Winchester Bay, Oregon to I-5?
Highway 126 or Highway 38?
Thanks

Amy Ann...
Did you check ODOT? It seems like 38 has had many delays for road construction.

We have traveled Hwy 126 and it is okay. GoneFishin took that road from Florence to Guaranty earlier this year...

I did go check ODOT....

It looks like I would definitely take 126 considering the choices...

The ODOT website to which you gave the link shows two "20-minute delay" areas on SR-126 while it shows only one on SR-38.

As far as which is a better road, they're both good roads. We often drive SR-38...at least the portion from it's junction with SR-138 to the coast (we're usually coming from or going to Sutherlin, so drive SR-138 instead of the remainder of SR-38 to I-5).

Both are good two lane roads. Have taken both of them with the MH. For me it would depend where I wanted to go on I-5. If I was going anywhere from Eugene North I would take 126 if I were going from Sutherlin South it would be 38 to 138 to 5. In between it is a toss up.

If you go over 38 and want a good meal you can stop at my brother-in-laws place in Elkton (Tomaselli's Pastry Mill) tell him Dave and Jeri sent you. No price break but he will give you a good meal and a bad time
