Highway info Needed

Has anyone any information on the condition of CA12 from just north of Stockton over to Fairfield Hwy 40 in California? We are travelling from Bakersfield to Vacaville and wish to by pass Sacramento if possible. Thanks for any help!

It's been a long time since I've been on it but, as I recall, it is a good, mostly 2 lane road with lots of traffic. I worked on a project in Modesto many years ago and one of my colleagues drove it daily with the sun in his eyes both directions. I would take it with my class A without hesitation.

Going through Stockton is a mess. I5 has been torn up had to drop down to 25mph as the road was so bad. Also lane swaps. Live in Sacramento and the route from here to Vacaville isn't bad. The transition from 5 to 80 is about the only bad section. You can check road status on CA Dot

Been a couple of years but used to live in Fairfield have towed over it many times. It is mostly two lanes with passing lanes on the hills. Knon for many accidents over the years and is or was a lights on road. Just be careful.
