Planning a trip from Williams AZ to Las Vegas NV. I was thnking about taking Route 66 out of Seligman AZ into Kingman and down to the Goldroad Ghost Town. I am not intrested in making time. I thought it would be intresting to show the kids what it was like before Interstates and 65 plus MPH speed limits. Anyone have any suggestions or ride reports on what shape the road is in?

Not exactly sure where you are going but use toad if going to Oatman. We have done most of 66, much of it in the towed as it has a habit of disappearing at times. Good Luck

Seligman to Kingman is a good road. We traversed it this last May. We enjoyed being off the interstate. From Kingman, I believe you are turning north, and not going through Oatman.

Beahop is correct about going from Kingman to Needles on 66. We took it in our MH with a toad in tow, and unhooked north of Oatman. I wouldn't drive our MH on that part of 66 again!!

We live out in our old van. Travel all across this land. Drive until the city lights dissolve into a country sky, me and you - hand in hand.

We have seen smaller MHs in Oatman, but would not take ours there.

Route 66 Needles to Kingman.... my wonderful (younger) brother said it was a great road. He forgot to tell me he rode it on his M/C .

Oatman was our point of no return coming in from the south. We didn't turn around We made it through without any damage, but the one curve by the mine had numerous scrapes on the pavement from vehicles bottoming out, and we used almost ALL of the pavement. After that curve Patty asked that I unhook the toad , we dropped from 55' to 36' . We had driven through the worst already.

We were told that the week before we came through, a MH bottomed out and put his genset into the radiator on his rig. He had to be towed out.

The old gas station north of Oatman on 66 is a great nostalgic stop, if you are going that way don't miss it. Look for the tame Roadrunner too!!

We wished we had more time to explore 66 in Oklahoma, but we will have to save that for another trip.

A trip with us is always an adventure .
