Hoover Dam Bridge?

I was just told the new bridge is something to check out. Looks like from Winslow I can take 93 up then 15 back over the Hwy 99 (to Sacramento)

is this something a first timer with a 30 ft rental and a toad should consider doing in June LOL

Has anyone seen it?

A must see in my book! Visited in March 11' and was awed by the bridge and the dam. The bridge is 900' above the water but not scary to drive across at all, walking across (which you can do) is another matter!

I haven't been there since the new bridge was opened, but I'll second the suggestion to stop at the visitors center and take the 'Hard Hat' tour. They will take you deep into the bowels of the dam and show you all the innards. Was a fabulous tour, so good in fact, that I'd like to take it again! Plus, you get to KEEP the hard hat!

"Welcome to Hoover Dam. I'm Bob, your dam guide. Be sure to visit the dam gift shop after the tour. Before we get started, are there any dam questions?"

PS - The boat tour of lake Mead was awesome too.

You will need to exit after crossing the bridge Hoover dam visitor center exit, the road will take you down below the bridge you will not know when you cross it on the freeway. This will take you across the dam to the visitor center. I walked across the bridge they have a ped. walkway great views of the dam upstream below you. A woman jumped off the bridge a few weeks ago first suicide for the bridge

Exclamation Hoover Dam Bridge

Went over it on April 18th 2012. Left Vegas a few days before heading to Wenatchee Washington. As we were traveling, the wind was really whipping from our left and then from our right the closer we got to the bridge. Just before we got to the bridge there was a flashing sign that says: "High Profile vehicles not recommened - High Winds". Well, OK, I new the winds were heavy, but where the sign is, there's no place to pull off nor anyplace to turn around......So.....the next sign says High Profile vehicles stay in Left lane. Which I did, not knowing what to expect next. We slowed to about 45 or so and experienced no problems - F350 dually with 36' Doubletree Mobile Suites in tow -. During our crossing though my only thought was "Why the heck wasn't the sign fifteen miles back so I'd have a choice of what I want to do"? Besides that, It was absolutely gorgeous and massive gorges! We'll be leaving Wenacthee around the middle of July and head back down that way again.....Hopefully, we can see more of the area around the dam. Heading to Tallahassee Fl next.

Chucktallent. We crossed the bridge about two weeks ago and had the same warning signs. Having driven across the dam numerous times I decided to go down the hill and cross the dam in Arizona. Guess what - they don't let you cross into AZ and go south anymore. So we drove across the bridge without problems.
