How safe is overnight parking at Walmarts, Flying J's, etc.

Traveling back and forth from my to Fla is there any security at these I-95 parking stops?

As with most, sometimes yes and sometimes no. We've done it many times, only once, at a Sam's Club, did we feel uneasy but we stayed anyway.

Depends! Which one, phase of the Moon, many other factors that you or I have no control over.

I have only Wally docked once in Idaho, no problem!

There is a great Walmart at Brunswick, Ga. Also a good one at Walterboro, SC. Both are Supers and have 24 hr lot security. If you ever take a side trip & cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, there is a big parking lot just off the north end of the bridge. I use Allstays app to pre select ONP spots. I always call if stopping at a Walmart or other merchant location.

6 trips from FL. to upstate NY and beyond. Stayed in Walmart, Flying J and a 1 rest area ( don't park near the dumpsters, they empty them at 5 AM ).

Probably 25 or more nights, with no problems.

Rest areas and truck stops are full of truckers watching each others backs. I don't think low life's want to to mess with them.

Most Wal-Mart's have cameras and are open 24 hours.

Very seldom is it the Wal*Mart that prohibits it, usually it's the city, town or county. Wal*Mart's corporate policy is to allow (and encourage) it where ever legal.

We have parked at wal marts, Love's, pilot and flying J, we park around the big rigs, never had a problem. The truckers are great people will also help you out if you need assistance.

We stayed twice, at walmarts, both times in Metro areas, only because we could not find a state, county city,National Park. We avoid commercial parks, too often they are inhabited by long term unsavory residents.

If you don't already have it, get the ALLSTAYS APP. It's $10, we've had it for over 3 years. Walmarts, campgrounds, fuel, rest areas, way too much stuff to list.
The show the allowed to park at Walmarts as well as the no parking ones.
Truck stops are noisy and not as safe as Walmart

We like to overnight at Cracker Barrel, quiet by 10:00pm, good clientele and you can usually get a decent meal for not a lot of money.

We've stayed at Flying Js, Loves, TA, Walmart and Interstate rest areas and never felt uncomfortable. Most truckers are hard working and will help you if you have a problem.

We've done the same thing nearly every year traveling from OR to WV and back since the late 70s. Only felt uneasy a couple of times, but nothing materialized. Security, as others have said, may or may not be present.

We also use interstate rest areas to dump and fill most of the time.

Has worked well for us.
