Hwy 171 From Lake Charles to Toledo Bend??

Following this route using Google Maps this appears to be mainly 4 lanes. Is this a good route to take?

Checking Allstays Low Clearance App is shows one bridge being 13' 6" in Leesville. Is this accurate? To the tip of my antennas I am approximated 13' 6". The top of the A/C is approximately 12' 10".

Yes it is, I have taken it many times with my Itasca. The RR overpass is low, but at 12'6" I have never had a problem with it. Last time I passed that way was in Sept. there is some road construction at the Main Gate of Fort Polk, and some rough spots entering Leesville. Enjoy your trip.

Lake Charles and Toledo Bend when I was stationed there in the 80's they were the 2 places we went to when we got a break.

Are there any RV friendly gas stations in DeRidder or Leesville?

I am not sure, I always fill-up in Sulphur or Moss Bluff before I head out. Gas prices here in Sulphur (Pure Gas) are $3.07.9 at the Bayou Mart and $2.99.9 (Ethanol laced) at the Kroger. I usually start out from Sulphur and take Hwy 27 up to DeRidder then jump on 171 to 111/392 to Pleasure Point Park.

I did not need gas on the trip up to Toledo Bend, but will need to get it on the way back down. The Walmart in DeRidder looks like the best place.
