For the price you can stay in better places in Sisters or the place I was talking about it's about 10 miles from Sisters as you are heading into Bend. If you do go to Crown Villa do not pass the entrance(it is easy to do) as there is a 10' bridge just around the corner with no place to turn. We actually had to back up about 200 yards to do a 3 point turn, and it wasn't easy due to traffic.
We took the route Laj is talking about to get to Bend and took the 97 to the 395 and then south. We have gone both ways, the I5 is beautiful until you get south of Oregon and into California, 395 is nice all the way back to the Ridgecrest area. If you do go back the I5 be sure and stop at Seven Feathers Casino Campground, you won't find a nicer cleaner CG, and with all the discounts its about $37 for a full hook up pull thru spot.
