Anyone driven this route through Galena to the Des Moines area in a class A, towing? Any issues? Thanks....

US 20 takes you to Dubuque .... then on west to Cedar Falls ... and Sioux City ...

You will need to select other roads to get to Des Moines ... choices are : US-151 & I-80, I-35, US-60 & US-30 & US 65

All of these routes are travelled by motorhomes all the time

Yeah...plan is to take 35 south from 20 into Des Moines area. The concern is any construction or other issues on 20 itself. 88 out of The Chicago area has about 50 miles of lane closures, rough road surfaces and a 45mph limit.

US 20 from Dubuque to I-35 is a great road ... all four lane ... I have driven it twice in the last year ...

I believe there is a detour still in place by Correctionville, Iowa.

Correctionville is near Sioux City ... in the section of US-20 being rebuilt ... definitely west of the intersection with I-35
