HWY 285 North from Fort Stockton Texas

We left San Antonio Texas and headed to Carlsbad, NM on Sunday. I took Hwy 285 North out of Fort Stockton, Texas. What a mistake. The road was horrendous. It was about 2.5 hours of dodging pot holes and pavement. 285 goes through the heart of oil field country and the semi's have the roadway beaten to submission.
