Hwy 49 By Glacier Nat'l Park

Does anyone know how RV friendly Hwy 49 is between Kiowa and East Glacier Park? It's been a while since we were on that road, which was in the pre-RV days and if I recall it was pretty bad at the time. I'd hate to have to go through Browning if I don't have to.

All I can offer is a friends experience. He had a 36' diesel pusher W/towed. He drove that road (this was in Aug 05) and said it was difficult(read narrow/twisty, muddy in places, and he would not do it again. There must be a valid reason it is not highlighted in a truckers atlas as acceptable for truck traffic.
