Hwy 60 in MO.

Can anyone tell me the condition of Hwy 60 running from Springfield, MO going East to I-55. Wide, narrow, smooth, rough? This will be my maiden voyage in my MH plus Ill be pulling a toad. Thanks

Thanks, DW will feel better now and I must say I will to. Any suggestions on a easy fuel stop in the Springfield area along Hwy 65. I'll be running South to Branson then back North to Hwy 60 East to I55. Will need to fuel in the Branson -Springfield area.

Traveling north on 65 two exits before you get to 60 is hwy CC. Exit at CC, turn right (east) and you will see a Signal station on the right, next to Lamberts restaurant. It's a new large station with multiple diesel lanes. Just watch the signs for Lamberts (home of the throwed rolls) and you can't miss it.

Enjoy the Branson area, it's a fun destination.

Thanks so much Mo. As you might guess as time gets nearer the small insecurity starts creaping in. Will be glad to get some miles under my belt. Have been pulling a 5er but this 40 + DP is a different beast. It doesn't bend in the middle. Might be a good time to intercept a few rolls! Thanks again.

If you have been handling a fifth wheel I think you will find the class A will handle much easier overall. After a few hundred miles you will be an "Old Head" with the new rig. Enjoy.

If you are new to diesel pushers ... there are two things to remember ...
  1. You are sitting in front of the front wheels ... so in intersections don't start your turn until you are sitting in the extension of the lane you are wanting to turn into (much "later" than in your truck/5er)
  2. If the inside rear duals of my motorhome make it around a corner obstacle so will the inside tires of my toad ... I think you will find the same to be true of your Discovery
You will likely need these two facts in Branson

Thanks Skigramps, no doubt I will not be doing anything that will improve the " crazy old man driving a big old camper " image, cause I'm planning on taking my lane out of the middle.
