Hwy.89 & 160 AZ

I would like to know if 89 from Flagstaff to Tuba City then 160 to Cortez is a good rt towing a 35 ft fw with a scooter trailer or should I go I40 to Gallup NM then 491 to Cortez.

We've traveled that route (89 --> 160) many times - easy to do. They've been working on resurfacing a large part of the road, and it's in good condition.

I40 then 491 through Gallup is also in good shape. Many miles of new pavement take you up to Shiprock and then Cortez.

Hope that helps...

Pay attention to the speed limit signs thru the reservation. The Navajo cops are cranky about speed.
