Hwy 93

I'm heading out in my brand new 32' Tiffin, alone, from Phoenix to western WA. I was looking at Hwy 93 from Vegas to Twin Falls and catch I-84 then to 5. I know 84 and 5 but never been on 93 thru NV. I'm trying to avoid elevations as much as possible.

I would recommend Hwy 95 over 93. It also comes out of Vegas and is an excellent 2 lane road, we have traveled it several times and is mostly flat. On 93 there is Connors Pass that is 7,722 ft just before Ely, others that have actually traveled 93 can comment on it. I would choose Hwy 95, all of Nevada is pretty lonely. Plan your fuel stops, there are big stations in Tonopah, probably Fallon & Winnemucca.

93 is mostly 2 lane but a great road just the same. Take a look at taking 93 to 318 and reconnecting with 93 further north. Mileage and time wise it's a little shorter.

What Jan says about Connors Pass is true. I had forgotten about that. There is fuel available in Ely though.

The town of Ely is a good stop off for a couple of days. The Nevada Northern RR Museum is definitely worth a day as are the Ward Charcoal Furnaces and the Ward Cemtery if you're into history. Further north at the town of Jackpot is Cactus Pete's Casino and the Saguaro Campground. Full hookups for $18/night and the Casino has a great buffet for $13.99. Wednesday nights it's half price for seniors I believe.

What Craig_R said is correct 93 to 318 to 50 into Ely. Nice KOA in Ely. 318 has nothing along the road so make sure you have fuel. Big truck stops in Ely so no problem with fuel there.
Wells has an RV park called Mountain Shadows RV Park which is good for a night.
93 between Ely & Wells has nothing but scenery.
Enjoy your trip
