Does anybody have any up-to-date info on the condition of I-10 across Louisiana? We hope to go through there in late February in our Motorhome w/toad.

We will be doing the same trip at the same time. The problem with the I-10 in Louisiana is that they knew enough to pour concrete, the part they forgot is that you need a concrete finisher. 
It get a bit bouncy over the seams. I have crossed through there a number of times and the TV has not fallen out YET

Just came across on my way home from Texas. It's rougher than a cob at the LA/TX border.
I also remember reading a post in the last 3 or 4 weeks where they said it was so rough on th LA side they busted a shock.

Dang, I drove it today, Beaumont to Highway 165 in LA, and didn't notice anything bad. We listened to the CD (books on CD) without any skipping. 165 had a section we had to turn the CD off because of roughness and skipping, but it was only about a mile long. If you want to find rough, go to California. We had hours in CA on I-5 where the CD wouldn't play.
There is some construction with one lane closed, but traffic was flowing well about 11:00 this morning.
Maybe the RR10s chassis with tag axle really is worth the extra money?

I must have had my eyes closed about a month ago while traveling from Austin, TX to Jacksonville, FL. Pretty smooth.

The 20 year old perceptions still exist along with the old horror stories.
I-10 is as good as most and better than some. Yes, short bumpy areas but if you want bad try I-44 across Missouri or any "I" in Calif....

Yuuup, Windshield cracked on the I-10 in Lousiana and finished it off on the I-10 in Pasadena ,Ca

On I-10 in Baton Rogue there is a lot of road construction going on now and also on I-12 in the Denham Springs area. If you pass through these areas before 3 PM weekdays the traffic should be OK.

I would suggest checking back a week or so before leaving. Maybe some of those shovels that were ready a couple years ago will be working.

I dunno. Last time I was in Lafayette, I drove through a construction area. There were 5 shovels. 1 was moving material. 4 were propping up "workers" watching the 1 shovel move material. I kid you not!!

My point exactly! By the end of February there may be two shovels moving materials and two flaggers for traffic control. Seems to me they build roads in a funny sort of way today...shovels. Maybe if the money had been made available for tractor ready projects????
