I-10 or I-40 Eastbound Mid to Late March

One year at the end of April I-40 was closed down between Flagstaff and Albuquerque because of a blizzard. We spent hours parked on the interstate!

Keep a close watch on the forecasts for that area that's where you would, most likely, have issues.

If coming through Nashville on I40, avoid it. Take the I840 southern bypass.

I agree with the I40 fans. I10 is terrible, ugly and condition is less than favorable

Trying to decide which way to go so we can lock in some stops along the way.
I realize weather is the big unknown here but anyone with experience on those routes your words will be welcome.

Look over this route - https://binged.it/3aHlyel - it get you to Amarillo then straight across then to Texarkana - Texas has Great Roads - JMHO - then across to Perry easy and avoids the long diversions and the I-10 that I try to avoid.

Generally March is not a bad month in the south to Travel.

Glad I could help - I use Bing the Map app, that was included, as an alternate source to find CG's along the way - also the last time we drove that route it was winter and we just Wal*Mart ed it, so that is always an option if just going A to B is the Mission - there are numerous parks and CG's along the way if that is what you are after. Avoiding the Big Cities is a Plus.

The added benny of the route is telling your Friends, you just drove through Paris,

Check the weather before you go. Keep an eye on the weather while on the road. Be prepared to deviate from your plans. That's all I'd do.
