I just read in an Indiana newspaper that the I-64 bridge between Louisville, KY, and New Albany, IN, is closed. Apparently some damage to the bridge was discovered and it will take several weeks to inspect the whole bridge.

Here'a a link to the article I saw. Ind. gov: Assessing closed Ohio River bridge to take at least 3 weeks as engineers scour span | The Republic

This will make the very heavy traffic on the remaining downtown bridge even worse. There has been an ongoing discussion for 10 plus years of another Interstate bridge on the east side of Louisville. There are even limited access highways aimed at the crossing site, but nothing but "studies" has occured. Maybe this issue will accelerate actual construction.
