Rockslide closes 17 miles of I-70 in Glenwood Canyon - The Denver Post

Don't plan on going across Colorado via I-70 any time soon. They may be able to put both directions (2 lanes) on the EB side within a a few days (maybe) but even if they do , it'll be very slow through there. any detour will take you an extra couple hundred miles.
This could cancel my upcoming trip to Moab from Denver

Saw a photo of the rock slide in our local paper this AM....that's a lot of big rocks .

When we traveled that road in the fall of 2006 a trucker was killed by a rock slide only an hour or so after we passed the area where she was killed. Local paper said Colorado Governor has declared a state of emergency due to the road closing.
