The road was cleared and re-opened.

UPDATE: Interstate 75 southbound lanes back open after rock slid - WRCBtv.com | Chattanooga News, Weather & Sports

Spring Break traffic gets break from rock slide on I-75 (video) | cleveland.com

The US 25W detour also will get you around the area. It's the route that was in effect before I 75 was built.

Paul, we'll be right behind you and I was wondering the same thing. Checked the Tennessee Highway system website and they say that one northbound lane will re-open on March 24. You could log on and check for sure before you leave FL ... better than the alternative imo
Safe travels!

I-75 Southbound is open but Northbound is still closed, but the detour on US 25 is a great route and all the Semi traffic runs that way. The best time to do the detour is in the early morning. A couple of my buddies run it every week and the tell me is is a breeze.

I live in East TN, current news reports say they will open 1 north bound lane before Thursday. Last week they resorted to blasting to expedite the work, today on the news they showed progress to date. They are using the blasted material to build a barrier between the slope and the interstate. Looking at the pictures it looks like the solved the problem long term.
