I-77 south to I-95 or I-75 south to florida ???

going to pick up my Laredo 28bh in a few week's from Ohio , I live in south east Florida , Map quest show's only a 15 minute difference between the 2 routes going home ,"" i-77 south to i-95 south or i-75 south to Florida"" So what route is better for towing the trailer for the first time

Thank you

I would do I77 to I95 if for no other reason than dodging the Atlanta metro area.

Agreed, now if you can blow through Atlanta mid morning or early afternoon then it's cake, but if you're near morning rush hour, lunchtime or evening rush hour then it's maddening.

Or if you're traveling at night.

But otherwise, in the morning you'll hate life getting into and through Atlanta. Lunch or evening you'll hate it going through Atlanta then again on the southside of town which has traffic as bad as Atlanta. We really are becoming famous for our traffic.

I have used both I-75 and I-77 from northern Ohio to go south. I-75 is always busy it appears to me, I-77 has always had less traffic and it is a nice ride. It appears I-77 has more climbs but maybe that is just me. I prefer I-77.

Suggest you look at 77 to 85 to US441 south thru Athens (4 lane) south to Macon then 75 again. I travel Atlanta regularly and it can be a crap shoot on what might be going on with the traffic on any given day.
There is very little two lane road on the above route. On the 'thru Atlanta' route there is none, but it is usually quicker the other way

Hi mikebrls,
If you do the I77 to I95 route, try to treat Charlotte, NC just like you would Atlanta. If you are going to pass through Charlotte before 9 AM or after 3 PM consider watching for the beltway. You'll catch it north of Charlotte and go west around the city rush traffic. Any other time just stay on I77 south straight through the city.

First time? I prefer I77 but you should be advised that 77 thru WV to N.C has quite a few mountains to negotiate. Since its your 1rst time towing I don't know how comfortable you would be on this route. In fact I have motorhoming friends that will not take 77. I don't have any issue with the route and have it traveled many times & find it much more scenic.Just know there are some steep hills and runaway truck ramps on it.
