I-8 between Yuma and El Centro

The Caltrans website shows that I-8 is "closed" for part of this segment.

I want to know if I-8 is actually "open" and limited to single lane.

Has anyone been on this segment in the last week?

Just drove I8 both ways from end to end, west on the 13th, east on the 23rd, no problems.

This drives me crazy. I have traveled that section of road a couple of times each year.

Now they have miles of road they are replacing when there was absolutely nothing wrong with the road before. The road before was concrete on the dirt and not a bridge, so i just can't understand why they would replace it.

Drove that route last Sunday, There is a single lane detour that parallels the highway for about 7-8 miles, no problem, did 55 mph the whole detour.
