Hi -

I will be taking a trip South on I-81 through VA to NC. I am interested in any suggestions of good places I may be able to stop along for the way to catch a few Z's overnight.

Thanks,

We have stopped a few times at Exit 222 - Stauton VA. Nice roomy Walmart west of I-81.

Flying J at Exit 323 (last exit in VA) is noisier but has room for RV's.

WalMart in Roanoke is WAY off of I-81 (took us over 30 minutes just to find it).

We have used these Flying J’s for years.

This one at the first exit as you enter VA. Going south.
Pilot Flying J

This one is about 3 miles south of the exit for 77 south bound. There is another about a mile south of the 77 exit but is older and I’m not sure about RV parking there.

Pilot Flying J

Both are easy on / off with RV fuel lanes and RV parking out front away from the trucker and restaurants to grab lunch on arrival and coffee/breakfast before hitting the road again.

We have stayed at the Pilot/Flying J on I-81 near Wythville Va. several times. The one that is 3 miles from I-77 has RV parking and is easy to get in and out of. The other one does not have enough room for RVs.
