There is some major construction going on in the area of the intersection of I-86 (Rt 17) and I-81 in Binghamton. They are blasting away the side of the mountain to straighten the highway. When they are blasting, the highways are closed for up to an hour. This 'usually' happens in the morning before noon.

There is a web site that was created to give the status reports of the blasting and construction. It is on Facebook and since I do not do Facebook, I don't know if it is still being maintained. Go to the following link for the info.
