Where are starting from & what are you driving/towing?
I-95 from Charleston (I-26) is not a bad drive. mostly 2 lane although they are expanding it to 3 lanes so there is some construction. There is usually not much traffic backup unless there is an accident or a holiday. We usually get gas or diesel near the FL state line in GA. Seems to be the cheapest prices from SC -FL. Between exit (apprx) 30-6. There is however a lot of traffic on this route. In Jacksonville FL you will need to pay attention to your signs. I have never taken the bypass. In Daytona take I-4 West for about 1-11/2hour drive to Orlando. There is a Campers World in St Augustine right off the Interstate if you need it. We have parked there boondocking if needed. Several retail outlet stores there also & a Cracker Barrel.

Georgia seems to have perpetual construction with narrow lanes.

I95 is good....as said above take I4 at Daytona and go West on 4 to Orlando. Last diesel is exit #3 in GA......go West about 1/2 mile to truck fuel on the right. East in and out for diesel. Bring money.......we need it here in
Florida

You should have no problem with that drive. The area around Jacksonville always seems a little bit more confusing to me when returning home to NC running I-95 North. But again if you watch your signs you will be OK.
One more word of advise; in Jacksonville Southbound or North Bound, take it real easy when approaching the bridges & interchanges near downtown. This will make sense when you get there. Nothing to worried about , just be cautious. Have a great trip.

We bypass Jacksonville, FL to avoid the traffic hassles. Rt 9A loops around the east side of JAX and is Interstate road all the way. Much less traffic and easy bypass. I-295 loops around the west side, but is more miles and traffic than Rt 9A.

I-95 (and frankly speaking all east coast interstates) are something to be endured not enjoyed.

Focus on your destination and tough it out or re-jigger your plans to allow an extra day or so to do a more meandering old US hwy route.

Be safe and have fun.

No kidding. Are you from Roanoke Rapids or just staying there?

Make sure when you get into Florida heading into Jacksonville you take the I 295 by pass .
95 will take you into downtown. not a good thing.

I live in ST. Augustine and travel up and down I 75 & I 95 all the time and like both interstates. We will be leaving in a week for Western New York and will travel Noth on I95 & return on I75.

I second edj's comment on bypassing Jacksonville with 9A. I've done all three headed north from Orlando, I-95 through the middle, 295 around the west and 9A around the east. I personally like 9A the best, it doesn't feel like I'm going out of my way (like 295), and it beats driving the motorhome through downtown Jacksonville on I-95.
