I75 tennessee

we're heading down I75 to Knoxville staying at KOA on I40 in Newport, TN then I 40 through smokies to NC.

Is there any construction anyone knows on I75? Heading out this Saturday, March 14

Any help/info would be appreciated.

Just came up through there 2 weeks ago -- smooth sailing all the way, I came up from Atlanta, Can't tell you about 40 if your going that way. Going to Charlotte next week and I always take 75 then 40 though the Gorge. Very scenic trip.

Ken...I took the I65 south to 24 to I 75 and the roads around Nashville were in really poor condition due to salt and plow scraping. I do imagine you will experience the same at this time if you grab I 64 to I 75 at Lexington and head south to I40.... we as you know got hit hard last week with that 21 inch snow fall and it beat up the roads badly in just a short time. Drive careful.

As you get close to the KOA in Newport at the I-40 - I-81 split they are working on I-40. You will see signs and the construction begins just after mile marker 421. The rest of I-40 to Asheville should be good and then there is construction on I-40 at the I-40 - I-26 area.

Hope this helps and you get through the Louisville mess with no problems.

For future reference, most states have DOT websites that show any construction, restrictions, and accidents in real time. Tennessee has a great website.
