Indianapolis I-70

The last several years, taking our late summer trip on I-70, we have had to detour around the outer belt on Indianapolis due to construction on I-70 downtown. Can anyone tell me if the construction is complete, and if this is once again a good way through town for an RV?

Indianapolis I-70

The best way to travel east or west through Indy is to stay on I-70, even with a RV. The traffic on 465 around the city is tough. I was through the city just last week and construction is minimal. If you are going west you will see some around Terra Haute and you will have some slow downs in Illinois.

Yes I-70 is open downtown. I think it would be the best way through Indy at this point. There is a big construction project on the south side at the intersection of 465 and 65. I would avoid that if at all possible!

Thanks for the Indy I-70 replies. I agree, the trip around the outer belt did not fit into my category of fun.
