Has anybody driven the John Day Highway (OR 19) South frim I-84 down through Condon to the Fossil Beds National Monument towards Hwy 26? I assume it will be twisty winding part of the way. I drive a 26" Sprinter based desil motor home.

From I84 down to hwy 207 is decent road, some twists, turns, and hills esp in and out of the river bottoms. East of the 207 junction (Service Creek) it is a bit more twisty, but follows the river so less ups and downs. No real problem for your vehicle. NOW, south on 207 is another story!!!!!

I’m in John Day right now, having traveled from Joseph to here yesterday heading home . I have made a lot of trips to the Fossil area as I live in Central Oregon. Roads are fine, when I had a class C we went various routes there and back - no problems. Some roads are windy, but you are in the mountains. I now have a class A and would do the same routes with it. Just have to keep an eye on the weather from October forward as it can get nasty.

Hwy 19 to 26 is an easy drive. We've done it with our 40' MH. Have fun!
