Key West to Largo FL via RT41?

we are thinking about taking Rt 41 across the everglades to naples and pick up 75 to home in Largo, rather than going up to 75 and across to Naples. how is that road. Pros cons Thinking about staying overnite at Chokoloskee Island Park a nite or two-GS park --anyone been there ?

we run that route annually, much more scenic. You can catch rt. 29 off 75 and head south to rt.41. We have stayed in the area, but never at the park you mentioned.

When attending Datonya bike week, and traveling the state, gulf coast to Key West via R41 was a great ride, last time I traveled it, smooth, straight, scenic, Just a wonderful road to travel on across the Everglades........A lot better drive than Alligator Alley(I-75)............might want to stop and take a swamp ride or air boat ride......

Great route. When you come off the Keys pick up highway 997 in the Homestead area. That runs straight north to US41. There is a casino at the intersection that allows overnighting in their parking lot. The park at Chokoloskee is an old ORA park and very nice if a little tight.

We've taken 41 many times by car, motorcycle and DP. It's great.

There's a fairly new motorhome park in Everglade City:

Motorcoach Resorts South West Florida - Everglades Isle™ is a Florida premier luxury Class A motorcoach retreat and resort with Gulf of Mexico access located in Everglades City, Florida.

It's Everglades Isle. You may want to check it out.

That is a very scenic route through a beautiful and sometimes remote part of FL. There is some construction on parts of this road so you will need to be patient but it is well worth it.
I have not stayed in any of the RV parks or campgrounds but I'm sure they will be adequate.
