Without looking at a map, I believe you would go to Henderson/Las Vegas on US 93 and get on US 95 north out of LV. At Beatty, NV, you would follow road signs to Death Valley.....

There's a couple of things to consider here. If you go 93 from Kingman to Vegas you'll have to cross Hoover Dam and I've been reading on this forum that sometimes they want to search the rig. You can cut from Kingman to Laughlin on 68 and then 163 from Laughlin to 95. It's a long climb west from Laughlin to 95 but 4 lane so traffic can pass. Then if you take 95 all the way to Beatty you have to go over Daylight Pass and down a very long(but not too steep) grade from Beatty to the valley floor. It's 32 miles from Beatty to Stovepipe and it's a spectacular view. If you don't want to go down that hill, you can get off the 95 in Henderson, take the 215 beltway to I-15. Go south(not far) to the 160, go west through Blue Diamond and Pahrump and into Death Valley from the south through Shoshone. Or north out of Pahrump about three miles and left to Death Valley Jct. This is a good route with some ups and downs but no really long hills that I can remember. Pahrump has a really cool RV park called Terrible's. I've never stayed but lots of friends have and they all dig it. Sorry this is so long but I'm kinda big on details. Good luck, Kel.

They search every vehicle going over the dam...it's not a sometimes thing. However, it takes all of perhaps 5 minutes, so it's no big deal. Depending on when you go over the dam, the traffic can be slow, though.

I stand corrected. Looks like I missed a detail.

I would take 68 & 163 to 95, go north on 95 to Searchlight NV. Pick up 164 westbound to Interstate 15, go south on 15 to Baker CA. Go due north on 127 out of Baker to various junctions into Death Valley.190 out of Death Valley Junction to Furnace Creek is pretty easy going. Another simpler way would be going on Interstate 40 westbound from Kingman to Kelibaker Rd then go north to Baker and intersect 127 there.
Happy traveling which ever way you go!
